Our chat with Canadian actress and frequent Broadway star Chilina Kennedy is the perfect balm for our current times. With a focus on generosity, kindness and the ability to say “I’m sorry”, she is raising her son, Henry, with the betterment of the world in mind. Along with Jenn Colella, who makes a special guest appearance and considers herself one of Henry’s caregivers, they’ve bubbled with a few other families, balancing the responsibilities of homeschooling and work, and embracing the opportunity to teach love and respect to the next generation. Whether wearing her mom or artistic director hat, Chilina is viewing this pandemic as “a gift” of self reflection and a chance to grow, all while recognizing that even while theater is non-existent, our community continues to show up for one another.
